Since the early 2000s, I have been working closely with residents and visitors to Bodh Gaya as a researcher, teacher, and partner with different community organizations and NGOs. In addition to my most recent book publication entitled The Rebirth of Bodh Gaya: Buddhism and the Making of a World Heritage site, I am also writing on several related topics such as Dalit Buddhist conversion, educational charitable trusts and NGOs, ritual veneration of the Mahabodhi temple, and exploring the possibility of an (ethno)graphic novel in collaboration with Indian artists and with Manish Kumar, a UBC graduate student from Gaya.

 As a former faculty member on the Carleton-Antioch Buddhist studies program, I have also been working closely with the previous Director Robert Pryor and Antioch alumni to write about the history and legacy of the program, especially about the impor

As a former faculty member on the Carleton-Antioch Buddhist studies program, I have also been working closely with the previous Director Robert Pryor and Antioch alumni to write about the history and legacy of the program, especially about the importance of the Burmese vihara and its role in the transmission of Buddhism in the West. This project also involves the collection and digitization of old images of Bodh Gaya town which I plan to make available to the public as a digital archive.
